Cicada Report from Ashland, MA

Not sure if this is a cicada or not, but I almost sat on it! This was taken on one of our adirondack chairs on our porch. Please let me know if this in fact a cicada if you would. Thank you.

Thanks for filling in our online form. Yes indeed, that is a cicada. This species is Tibicen lyricen. Judging by it's appearance it looks like it is only a few hours from molting. I'll bet if you look around the area you will find an empty shell close by.
