Neocicada in Lehigh Acres, FL

My first inspection of the year was as expected, large numbers of N.hieroglyphicas are calling from this location for the 7th year in a row. I photograhed this female hanging out in the bushes while males called all around in the tree's.

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the cool photos of this female N. heiroglyphica cicada. I especially like the cast-off nymphal skin. They look very similar to Okanagana nymph skins even though they are completely different species.

Thanks for sharing.
