Tibicen auletes and molt. T. auletes is one of our most abundant species. This one was collected as a nymph and is still doing well as of July 27th 2012.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the real cool photos of a T. auletes cicada. Finding these guys here in New England is spotty at best. While they are abundant there they are scarce here. These are personally one of my favorite cicadas. Thanks for sharing this awesome photo. Let us know if you got it to call in captivity.
