My dog found this on our deck this evening. I had no idea what is was until a few friends explained it to me. I have never seen them before!

Thanks for sharing this cool photo of a Tibicen lyricen cicada. Judging by the shape of the abdomen it is male. I am surprised your dog did not eat it :) Pets like dogs and cats love to eat cicadas. Thanks very much for sharing your photo.
