soooo cool. heard them in the trees. my sister has them in maryland. is this the first time i have heard them in CT???????

Hi Cindy

Thanks for the photo and filling out the Massachusetts Cicadas online form. That species of cicada is known as Tibicen linnei. Connecticut has several different species of annual cicadas and each species generates a different sound. Where you are in New Canaan you can hear at least four different species.
