First Report Cicada from Milford, MA

I don't know how robust a cicada should be, but this one doesn't seem very active. Very easy to pick up. I have other pictures of it, but this picture is among the better ones.

Hi David

Thanks for the data point. That specimen is a Tibicen lyricen. One of the two very common species we have here in Massachusetts. However, it is the first data point I have for Milford Ma so it is very much appreciated.

Don't know why it was so sluggish. When you picked it up, was did it give off an alarm squawk? You'd know it if you heard it. It may be that it is probably teneral, meaning it is only a few hours from molting form nymph.
